Jamie K. Brown is an LA-based artist best known for their recurring role on Oprah Winfrey Network's David Makes Man and as an inaugural cast member of the Warner Bros. Discovery Access Talent Spotlight.
Raised across the East Coast, Jamie spent most evenings on stage, performing live music as part of their family's entertainment business. Growing up in dance studios and small-town artist industries shaped Jamie's love of performance and theater. From seasonal recitals and grade school shows, they went on to star in various local productions and commercials. Jamie completed high school a year early and found their next creative stride as an animation student at Full Sail University. Graduating mid-pandemic with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Animation (2020).
Weeks later, Jamie was tapped for a new journey, following an out-of-the-blue opportunity to audition for an upcoming OWN television project. Shortly after, making their television debut as 'Ashok' on the second season of Peabody Award-Winning television show David Makes Man from Academy Award-Winner Tarell Alvin McCraney. Up next, along with internet production house FourFront media, Jamie amassed over 150K+ followers and 5Million likes on TikTok as "Ollie" (@oxenfreeollie) a young trans man sharing his fictional journey through family and queerdom.
Finding new horizons in voice work, Jamie has recorded over two-dozen audio titles. Representing their communities as a black and queer storyteller, they've voiced works from historical noir to LGBTQ+ YA novels like The Passing Playbook (Isaac Fitzsimons) and Ryan & Avery (from New York Times Bestselling author David Levithan). Now a Master Narrator for Penguin Random House Audio, Jamie hopes to continue uplifting works from marginalized creators with motivations in cultural empowerment.
